How it started
The innovative start-up was founded in Dresden, Europe´s largest ICT location, in April 2019.The founding members had collaborated as researchers at the technical University Dresden (TU Dresden) for several years.
During the special project “fast carnet” the complexity of future automotive data networks was evaluated and examined. To process the broadband sensor data streams (for instance for camera, radar, ultrasonic) that are required for the advanced-driver-assistance-systems (ADAS) in real time a solution was needed. The idea for developing an IEEE 802.3 conform 1000BASE-T1 PHY was born. This project marks the first stage prior to the formation of SILICONALLY.
Chip tape-outs of the first two prototypes followed in 2020 and 2022. As a result, the start-up from Dresden gained interest on an interational level.

Another milestone follows in December 2024:
SILICONALLY releases the SinglePHY 100BASE-T1 22FDX, which is beyond prototype status now.
This new semiconductor solution builds onto the industry-leading capabilities of GlobalFoundries` (GF) 22FDX® platform, including power-efficient edge processing, advanced temperature-resistant capabilities, and full System-on-Chip (SoC) integration, to deliver high-performance, reliable chips for a variety of applications. Chip vendors can integrate it into their SoC from the shelf and tape it out to GF’s advanced manufacturing facility in Dresden.
