Gestaltungsforum Arbeit
You are warmly invited – to our PAL event “Design Forum Work”!
This event focuses on one central question: What will the workplace of the future look like?
The Design Forum Work offers a valuable opportunity to discuss the latest findings from labor research with leaders and researchers. In addition, practitioners can exchange ideas about innovative work practices and best-practice examples.
Brief introduction: The Design Forum Work – Workplace of the Future
The key question of the Design Forum Work is:
How do technological and structural changes impact work in companies?
Expert Panel and Key Impulses
The event will take place online on June 18, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM (CET).
Our three experts will explore the workplace of the future from different angles and provide valuable insights for your daily work:
Robotics at Work:
To increase efficiency, user-friendly robotics are increasingly being used in companies. This shift not only changes workflows but also the roles and skillsets of employees. Using the example of automated welding, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Julia Zähr (HSMW) will explain how changing job profiles lead to new demands on skilled workers.
AI and Practical Safety:
The workplace of the future will be more digital, flexible, and connected—especially due to AI. But many products are “artificial” without being truly intelligent. Tobias Henke (Head of Testing and Certification at BG Verkehr) will show how their technical inspection agency acts as a bridge between innovation and safe application: they verify whether AI systems function in practice—effectively, reliably, and safely. After all, without proper testing, immature products can endanger both processes and people.
Tech Stress and Strategy:
Tech-related stress is on the rise—especially when new systems are introduced without a clear strategy. Dr. Roberto Kockrow (BTU) will explain how to reduce cognitively demanding conditions. What should you know when working with AI assistance systems? Why is it worth taking a close look, clarifying the actual benefit, involving employees—and consulting professionals if needed?
