Film Screening “A Chip Odyssey” & Panel Discussion
Semiconductors have become a cornerstone of modern economies and geopolitical strategy. As Germany and the European Union expand semiconductor manufacturing capacity, it is timely to reflect on how long-term industrial ecosystems are built and sustained.
This public screening presents A Chip Odyssey, a documentary exploring the evolution of Taiwan’s semiconductor industry over the past five decades.
Through the perspectives of engineers, line technicians, policymakers, scientists, and a new generation facing critical choices, the film examines how Taiwan developed a comprehensive semiconductor ecosystem through sustained industrial planning and institutional coordination. Despite accounting for less than 0.02% of the world’s landmass, Taiwan has become a key pillar of the global semiconductor supply chain.
A moderated panel discussion will follow the screening.
