About this member

We develop breakthrough technology that makes life better for every person on our planet.

Intel is the reason for Silicon (silicon) in Silicon Valley. For over 50 years, Intel and our people have had a profound impact on the world, driving business and society forward by creating radical innovations that revolutionize the way we live.

Today, we are leveraging our reach, scale and resources to enable our customers to more fully harness the power of digital. Inspired by Moore's Law, we are continuously working to advance semiconductor design and manufacturing to help solve our customers' biggest challenges.

Leading product position

As we transform beyond a PC-centric company to meet the demands of the new data-centric world, we have expanded our product offerings to provide end-to-end solutions that scale from edge computing to 5G networking, cloud, and the emerging areas of AI and autonomous driving.

Intel is at the forefront of developing new semiconductor technology, products and solutions as building blocks for an increasingly intelligent and connected world across a broad spectrum of markets.

Open platforms

Around the world, companies are developing their networks, systems and solutions on open standards-based platforms such as Linux, Android and others. Intel has helped set the stage for this movement, with our historical leadership in developing standards for the world's businesses to use.

These open platforms provide lasting innovation from the world's developers, expanding their capabilities while increasing their stability, reliability and security. In addition, microservices have enabled the development of flexible, loosely coupled services connected via APIs to create end-to-end processes.

Intel leverages industry collaboration, joint development efforts and open source contributions to accelerate software innovation. Optimized for Intel hardware, Intel software connects millions of developers to create and improve new technologies, solve critical problems and unlock opportunities. We also provide a stable stream of open source code and optimizations for projects in nearly every platform and usage model.

We are committed to co-developing, building and validating new products with software industry leaders to accelerate mutual technical advancements and help new software and hardware work together seamlessly.

Manufacturing at scale

We've always been in the business of challenging physics and developing the future, and that won't change. Intel remains a leading developer of process technology and a major manufacturer of semiconductors. We are also a leading supplier of manufacturing technology worldwide.

To meet the accelerating global demand for semiconductors and support our IDM 2.0 strategy, we are expanding our manufacturing capacity. We are starting to do this with an investment of around USD 20 billion in fabs in Arizona and New Mexico, an investment of more than USD 20 billion in a fab in Ohio, the acquisition of Tower Semiconductor and plans to invest up to EUR 80 billion in the European Union over the next ten years along the entire semiconductor value chain.

IDM 2.0 is a differentiated and successful manufacturing strategy available exclusively to Intel. IDM 2.0 enables us to design the best products and manufacture them in the best possible way, every time. It means we lead in process, product, delivery and cost.

In May 2011 we became part of Intel. As Intel Mobile Communications Technology Dresden GmbH, we are a development site for LTE within Intel Mobile Communications. However, baseband chip technology for 4G mobile telecommunications has already been under development here for several years. From what started as Blue Wonder Communications in December 2008, we have rapidly grown from a start-up to an LTE baseband development centre of excellence. With our highly specialized team we have demonstrated a proven track-record of core competencies in the field of energy efficient mobile broadband modem design.
