
The Commission is addressing providers and users of interactive and generative AI models and systems as well as biometric categorization and emotion recognition systems, private and public sector organizations, experts from science and research, representatives of civil society, supervisory authorities and citizens and invites them to share their views by 2 October 2025.
Duties under the AI Act
The AI Act obliges users and providers of generative AI to inform people when they interact with an AI system, when they are exposed to emotion recognition or biometric categorization systems and when they are confronted with content generated or manipulated by an AI system.
Call for expressions of interest
The consultation is accompanied by a call for expressions of interest, which runs until October 2 and invites stakeholders to participate in the drafting of the code of conduct.
Background
The AI Act, which entered into force on August 1, 2024, will promote the responsible and trustworthy development and deployment of AI in the EU. The transparency obligations will apply from August 2, 2026.
