Niklas Wilmking, Member of the Management Board for Contract Logistics at DB Schenker: “A stable supply of microchips is key to Europe’s economic success. The semiconductor industry is growing rapidly, also supported by initiatives such as the European Chips Act. This new DB Schenker location underlines our growth targets and our commitment to optimizing our customers’ operations. We are thus strengthening the logistics chain for semiconductors both in Europe and worldwide.”
The construction phase of the warehouse is already underway. A dedicated DB Schenker team is working together with business partners towards the opening in autumn 2025.
DB Schenker will operate 12,000 square meters of the 18,000 square meter warehouse space and offer services such as goods receipt, cross-docking, vendor managed inventory (VMI), return merchandise authorization (RMA) and shipping for the semiconductor industry. The warehouse will also be equipped with unit load devices (ULD) for air freight shipments.
DB Schenker is a long-standing logistics partner to the semiconductor industry and offers advanced logistics solutions at customers’ production sites. This minimizes downtimes and synchronizes logistics processes. Delays are reduced and efficiency is increased.
In total, DB Schenker operates 18 logistics locations for the semiconductor industry in Europe.
