The “Programming with Calliope Mini” project was launched by Silicon Saxony, and we at Communardo are delighted to support even the youngest children in developing their technical skills. It is important to us to awaken an interest in technology and computer science at an early age in order to accompany the next generation on their educational path.
Playful introduction to the world of computer science
The Calliope is a small mini computer specially developed for the education sector. Pupils can use it to learn the basics of programming in a playful way. The 148th elementary school in Dresden uses this technology to teach children valuable technical skills at an early age. As GTA leader, Leon is responsible for introducing the pupils to computer science step by step and introducing them to the fascinating possibilities of technology. The focus is not only on acquiring technical skills, but also on promoting curiosity, self-confidence and problem-solving skills.
Creative projects and impressive progress
The pupils’ enthusiasm is palpable as they explore the possibilities of programming together with Leon. New creative projects are created every week, which the children implement with increasing independence. Whether it’s writing simple programs or expanding the Calliope’s functions through experiments, the children’s progress is impressive. What is particularly valuable is that, in addition to technical knowledge, social skills such as teamwork and creativity are also encouraged. Leon manages to encourage and motivate the children not only professionally, but also personally. His commitment is rewarded when the children proudly bring their own programs to life and experience how technology and education go hand in hand.
