Bilfinger: Germany’s leading industrial services provider in 2023 according to Lünendonk list

September 29, 2023. Bilfinger once again maintains its top position in the ranking of leading industrial services providers in Germany. This is according to the current Lünendonk list, which is compiled annually by the renowned market research company Lünendonk & Hossenfelder GmbH. Since the first publication of the ranking in 2009, Bilfinger has held the market leadership position without interruption. Bilfinger’s output volume in the German market, which is decisive for the ranking, amounted to €1,002.8 million in the financial year. This means that the internationally active Group based in Mannheim remains the only company whose domestic sales exceed the €1 billion mark.

According to the study, fiscal year 2022 as a whole was strongly impacted by the effects of the war in Ukraine, including inflation, as well as high raw material and energy prices. However, thanks to its strategic focus on increasing efficiency and sustainability, Bilfinger was able to successfully hold its own regardless of the tense overall economic situation. The Lünendonk study identifies the switch to climate-friendly production processes and the increasing demand for sustainable services as important drivers in the German industrial services market. Particularly highlighted in this context is the conversion from fossil fuels to hydrogen – an area in which Bilfinger is involved in numerous innovation projects.

Bilfinger covers all requirements in the lifecycle of a plant as an industrial services provider: from engineering to manufacturing and assembly to operation with comprehensive maintenance, major turnarounds and modification measures as well as dismantling. The focus is always on the highest quality and safety in order to support customers in the process industry in increasing the efficiency and sustainability of their plants.
