Constellation On-Board Computers with integrated receivers and antennas

Beyond Gravity will deliver 252 “Constellation On-Board Computers (cOBCs)” with integrated navigation receivers and antennas for LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellite constellations. The cOBC enables satellite control and steering, reconfiguration and precise GNSS satellite positioning in combination with the supplied GNSS antennas. The device is extremely reliable and optimized for high-volume production. Delivery of the on-board computers is scheduled to begin this year. The MDA AURORA™ supply chain will help support product deliveries for anchor customer Telesat’s Low Earth Orbit satellite constellation Telesat Lightspeed, an innovative, advanced global network that provides enterprise-class connectivity to customers worldwide.

“We are very excited to partner with MDA Space on the development of MDA Aurora and to play an important role in the visionary Telesat Lightspeed mission,” said Oliver Grassmann, executive vice president of Beyond Gravity’s satellite division.

“Constellation On Board Computers are essential for constellations.”

“This contract with MDA Space is a testament to our strategic product development and confirms our strong position in providing innovative and reliable solutions to the commercial space sector, as our advanced and proven Constellation On Board Computers are essential for satellite constellations, ensuring robust performance and reliability,” added Kurt Kober, Vice President of Electronic Solutions at Beyond Gravity. “This agreement is a significant milestone for Beyond Gravity’s Electronic Solutions division and reflects the company’s strong position in the commercial space market.”

Designed to meet the evolving technical and business needs of the satellite industry, the software-defined MDA AURORA™ product line provides operators with unprecedented flexibility and functionality that dramatically improves constellation performance at a lower cost and faster time to market.
