As the use of AI in software development increases, the number of releases is growing—and with it, the demands on quality assurance. While development processes are becoming faster and faster, manual testing methods often reach their limits. This is exactly where QAptain comes in: The solution automatically generates test code from test cases described in natural language and integrates seamlessly into existing QA processes.

“Companies don’t need yet another black-box automation tool that they ultimately can’t trust—they need tests that work in everyday practice. Our strength lies in using QAptain to generate robust, traceable test code—seamlessly integrated into your existing pipeline and usable by everyone on the team,” explains Daniel Horn, Principal IT Consultant at accompio PrimeTec GmbH.

QAptain analyzes a running application, identifies the relevant UI elements, and uses them to generate maintainable, reproducible test automation code. Existing frameworks and workflows remain intact. Companies can integrate the solution into their existing infrastructure without making fundamental process changes. The goal is to reduce the workload on QA teams, scale test automation, and simultaneously ensure transparent and traceable test results.

What can QAptain do? The feature set of Version 1

With Version 1, QAptain includes, among other things:

  • Automated generation of test scripts from natural-language test cases
  • Support for Selenium in Java
  • Integration with existing test and development environments, including Jira, GitHub, GitLab, and Gitea
  • Integration with OpenAI models as well as proprietary Large Language Models (LLMs)

Additional frameworks such as Playwright and Cypress are already planned for future versions.
With QAptain, accompio is expanding its portfolio in the areas of DevOps and quality engineering with a solution that combines modern AI technology with established testing processes and helps companies efficiently scale their quality assurance efforts.
