As part of an initial two-year work program, IQE and X-FAB will collaborate on the development of a 650 V GaN device. The agreement will leverage IQE’s GaN epitaxial design and process expertise and X-FAB’s proven technology development and device manufacturing capabilities to offer an optimized technology-substrate combination for automotive, data center and consumer applications.
This collaboration will provide semiconductor companies without in-house manufacturing with a state-of-the-art, production-ready GaN platform that will accelerate their innovation cycles and time-to-market. The technology will also serve as a foundation for future product development and go beyond 650V to meet the growing market demand for power electronics.
