The goal: Information, services and strategic content reach employees without detours, in the right channel and at the right moment – completely individualized. The first components of Employee AI are already being used by pilot customers and will soon be available: hyper-personalized podcasts for employees, an AI-native assistant, AI-supported content quality checks and prompt-based content creation.

Although AI applications promise considerable productivity gains for employees, many rollouts have failed so far. The reasons lie in poor data quality and a lack of context. In addition, frontline employees are often not reached effectively. 

Employee AI was therefore developed based on three pillars: a trustworthy data foundation based on the world’s leading intranet from Staffbase. Building on this, Staffbase is launching a control layer that ensures AI governance and security across all touchpoints. As a third pillar, AI will be deeply integrated into the Staffbase employee app to ensure reach to all employees.

The first functions of Employee AI are already being developed together with leading companies:

  • Hyper-personalized podcasts (available from Q4 2025): Whether employees in the office or service technicians in the field – everyone receives a personalized weekly podcast with the most relevant news and team updates. This is based on defined criteria that are tailored to each individual. A company with 100,000 employees can actually publish 100,000 podcasts per week.
  • AI-native assistant (available from Q4 2025): An AI-powered assistant that not only answers questions such as “Who is my contact person for this project?” or “How do I apply for vacation?”, but actively helps to complete tasks and initiate processes. The assistant works via text and voice input – on mobile devices and across all internal communication channels.
  • AI-supported content quality checks (available from Q1 2026): Outdated or duplicate information is recognized and flagged – keeping content from the intranet up-to-date, reliable and trustworthy at all times.
  • Prompt-based content creation (available from Q2 2026): Admins and editors can create high-quality content with simple prompts – from AI-generated emails and reusable templates to page creation and automated news articles from briefings in various formats. In conjunction with a content wizard, teams can revise their drafts faster, speed up workflows and professionally implement communication on a large scale.
