Saxony’s Minister of Economics and Labor Dirk Panter: “As the economy changes, so does our working world and with it many of the demands on employees in Saxony. Training and further education are crucial in order to prepare today’s employees for the work of tomorrow in the best possible way. We want to make better use of the opportunities arising from digitalization in order to tap into all the potential in Saxony. To do this, learning must become more flexible and future-proof. This is precisely why we need offerings that are up to date. With innovative educational offerings that provide what trainees and employees need, we not only strengthen their qualifications, but also contribute to the future viability of Saxony’s economy.”
Digitalization is changing the activities within professions, new activities are being added and old activities are disappearing. At the same time, digitalization is changing the ways in which we can learn. Through online learning on various learning platforms, language learning apps or the use of 3D glasses that guide employees through processes and explain how they can operate or repair a machine.
Digital learning platforms, e-learning, virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI) are just a few examples of the digital education innovations that will shape the vocational training of the future.
