According to Minister of Economic Affairs Dirk Panter: “This is a good day for Saxon industry. Excellently trained specialists are the key to successful companies. In this respect, the new BSZ Electrical Engineering has a real key position. It will ensure that “Silicon Saxony” can continue to grow. We are delighted that the EU is supporting us in keeping Saxony fit for the future as a business location with the help of training and innovation. The new BSZ will be a real beacon with which we want to attract trainees from all over Germany and our neighboring countries to Saxony.”

Minister of Education Conrad Clemens: “Saxony is becoming the training heart of the semiconductor industry. High technology does not start in the laboratory, but in the classroom. This 100 million milestone from the EU is catapulting our specialist training towards the future – a huge opportunity for young people in Saxony.”

The BSZ for electrical engineering in Dresden is getting a modern learning environment for the urgently needed training of specialists in critical technologies such as microelectronics. The educational campus is to be built in the Prohlis district in the coming years.
