ECS Summer School 2026 – Apply Now!
Microelectronics forms the foundation of modern integrated circuits – in short: chips. These are designed, manufactured, tested and integrated into complex electronic systems. Together with software, they enable interaction between the physical and digital worlds – from telecommunications and electromobility to medical technology and aerospace. The Summer School provides insights into current technologies as well as future developments in this dynamic sector.
This summer, 40 selected students from across Europe will once again have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of microelectronics.T
The ECS Summer School
he fourth edition of the Summer School will take place from 23 to 28 August 2026 at the University Residential Centre of the University of Bologna in Bertinoro (Italy). Over the course of one week, 40 selected students from across Europe will dive into the world of microelectronics – from technological fundamentals to future applications in smart systems.
Through lectures, demonstrations and interactive formats, participants will receive a comprehensive overview of four key topics:
- Semiconductor Technology
- Integrated Circuits Design
- Digital Systems & Embedded Intelligence
- Integration
Speakers from leading universities, research institutes and companies will provide both scientific foundations and practical perspectives. Career testimonials from young engineers will complement the programme with personal career insights.
The ECS Summer School 2026 therefore offers a unique opportunity to engage intensively with key technologies of European microelectronics, establish international connections and gain deeper insights into possible career paths.
