August 12, 2025. The companies Amazon Web Services, Dresden-IT, elevait, SAP, ZEISS Digital Innovation, SachsenEnergie, Eigenbetrieb IT der Landeshauptstadt Dresden and Communardo have joined forces in a joint initiative to inspire young people for the world of IT with the Level IT up event.

Level IT up is a hands-on educational event that will take place in Dresden on August 22, 2025 from 13:00. It is aimed at pupils in years 7 to 13 and gives them access to the digital world. It will also showcase the range of digital and IT companies in Dresden. Through workshops, live demos and discussion rounds, the young people can experience how IT works and what opportunities are available to them both professionally and socially.
“With Level IT up, SAP wants to inspire students for the fascinating world of IT and show how versatile and exciting digital professions can be,” says RenĂ© Wohllebe, Head of Training Dresden, SAP SE. “At the same time, SAP, as the market leader for enterprise software and Europe’s largest software manufacturer, is opening its doors together with other regional and international companies to provide practical insights and real prospects for the future.”
The aim of Level IT up is to provide practical insights into technological developments and to arouse interest in future-oriented IT professions – regardless of previous knowledge or school background. Silicon Saxony e. V. is a major supporter of the initiative.
“With Level IT up, we are creating a new offer in Dresden that is aimed specifically at young people to awaken their enthusiasm for IT at an early age,” says Nils Lindner, Head of Marketing at ZEISS Digital Innovation. “As ZEISS Digital Innovation and an IT company with over 35 years of experience, it is a key concern of ours to provide practical insights into the digital world of work and to promote interest in STEM subjects at an early stage – because the talents of tomorrow are helping to shape the technologies of today. This support has been close to our hearts for years in order to arouse curiosity for digital topics and show Dresden’s young talent concrete prospects for a path into the tech world. That’s why we are enthusiastically involved in Level IT up”.
After registering in advance, pupils can visit the eight companies on the day and choose from a range of 24 interactive workshops in which they can actively participate. It is a good idea to use streetcar line 3 to commute between the various companies. These are all located along line 3 between the Trachenberger Platz and NĂĽrnberger Platz stops.
The first workshops start at 13:00. All workshops last 90 minutes and offer the opportunity to visit another company afterwards. All workshops end at 18:30 at the respective locations. “We are inspiring the next generation of innovators by introducing young people from all backgrounds to the diverse career opportunities of the future through interactive workshops,” says Chris Schläger, Director Amazon Development Center Germany GmbH.
