
Precision Innovations develops EDA software based on the open-source OpenROAD framework. This software enables semiconductor teams to assess design feasibility, reduce design iterations, and shorten time-to-market in the face of the increasing complexity of system-on-a-chip designs. The acquisition strengthens Siemens’ EDA portfolio with AI-powered capabilities for chip planning and design exploration. It also complements Siemens’ existing digital design and verification solutions by enabling faster feasibility analyses and more informed decisions in subsequent process steps.
Precision Innovations is becoming part of Siemens and represents a key addition to its industry-leading “Digital Design Creation” software. The company expands existing capabilities for digital design and implementation. This enables a comprehensive, end-to-end digital workflow that covers the architecture, implementation, and entire silicon lifecycle management of SoCs.

The closing of the transaction is subject to customary conditions and is expected in the third quarter of calendar year 2026. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
