The Saxon Digital Prize, awarded by the Saxon State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport (SMWA), was held this year under the motto “Digital solutions in the field of raw materials and energy”. The N+P platform impressed the jury with its advanced technology and its decisive contribution to optimizing energy controlling and the use of resources. In this way, it also supports companies’ sustainability efforts and forms the basis for meaningful ESG reporting.
The N+P platform also plays a key role in the European Gaia-X initiative. This aims to create a digital ecosystem of networked data spaces with a focus on data sovereignty. In Saxony, the Digital Agency Saxony (DiAS) is supporting the networking of stakeholders. Digital sovereignty as a principle of “resilience” is a building block of the digital strategy for the Free State of Saxony and the N+P platform is part of it.
“We are incredibly proud that our N+P platform has won first place in the Saxon Digital Prize. We would like to thank the jury for their expert assessment and everyone who supported us with their votes,” says Jens Hertwig, Managing Partner of N+P. “This award is confirmation of the path we have taken over the years towards developing a sovereign platform for German and European SMEs. Today we feel ‘truly excellent’ in the truest sense of the word,” adds founder Jens Hertwig, beaming with joy.

The N+P platform connects digital twins with IoT data
The N+P platform is an in-house development by N+P Informationssysteme GmbH. It is specifically designed to meet the requirements of the manufacturing and construction industry in order to support the digitalization of the entire value chain. The focus is on the digital twin of machines, plants and buildings. Data from various basic software systems (CAD, ERP, MES, CAFM, PLM) and BIM models flow together on the N+P platform. Enriched with real-time data, visualizations of relevant parameters are created in conjunction with the 3D model or on user-specific dashboards. Among other things, current statuses, behaviors and availabilities can be displayed transparently and meaningfully. The N+P platform thus becomes the central source of information about the digitized assets and provides the basis for advanced processes (e.g. maintenance, fault recording, spare parts ordering) or data-driven business models.
Practice-proven application scenarios
In the specific context of buildings, the platform enables the monitoring and optimization of energy consumption, indoor climate and technical equipment, which improves decisions on energy efficiency and space utilization. In addition, it offers opportunities for continuous adaptation and optimization of building operations and management.
In the manufacturing environment, the N+P platform gives companies more transparency about the use of systems, machines or a product. This enables further actions such as the reduction of downtimes, better planned service assignments or the provision of value-added services, such as a dedicated spare parts store and even the prediction of failures.
About N+P Informationssysteme GmbH
N+P Informationssysteme GmbH has been a competent partner for the digitalization of industry and construction in medium-sized businesses since 1990. For industrial customers, N+P’s positioning as a digitization partner for the entire value chain from design (CAD) to production (CAM), planning (ERP) and control (MES) to data management (PDM/PLM) is unique in the German-speaking world. N+P is also a provider of end-to-end digitalization of the building lifecycle (design – build – operate) for the construction industry and connects the IT systems of design (CAD/BIM), construction process management (BUILD) and building operation (CAFM). Thanks to continuous further development, the owner-managed family business can now rely on a team of ~200 IT specialists at seven locations in Germany.
