About this member

NEXT. robotics GmbH & Co. KG is the logical next step in the company's development, succeeding FREI robotics GmbH & Co. KG and its predecessor FREI Technik + Systeme GmbH & Co. KG, which was founded in 1995. The origins of the company go back even further, to 1955. After a good 20 years of sales and project planning in assembly and handling technology, a gradual reorientation towards lightweight robotics followed from 2003 onwards – less dangerous, more manageable and intuitive.

Mission

The company sees itself as a research-oriented sales and development office for innovative robot technology, focusing on lightweight robotics, advanced robotics, and cobotics. The focus is on people-friendly, cooperative robot arms from lightweight robotics, end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) such as robot grippers, simple, customized, and multifunctional, robot sensors for increased process capability, and mobile robot platforms—from research to industry. Sales includes technology-related support services in the areas of engineering, programming, and modularization, as well as customization for customer-specific, integrative applications.

Vision

We continuously observe, analyze, and engage with the latest developments in robotics technology and are part of research projects that have one primary goal: to bring robots closer to people. This requires a multi- and anti-disciplinary understanding in order to take into account as many influencing factors as possible. Under the umbrella of digitalization, we work on and support new ideas, concepts, market development, and technology transfer for cognitive robotics, service robotics, and neurorobotics (AI) for greater productivity, efficiency, and more humanity.
