Electronic Specialty Gases
Air Separation Units (ASU) for On-site Supply

As a pioneer in cryogenic air separation, Linde has a long and successful history dating back to the construction of its first air separation unit in 1902. Building on this foundation, we have developed unique expertise over decades in the design, construction, and continuous advancement of air separation plants, introducing numerous technological innovations in cryogenic distillation. To meet the needs of the rapidly growing semiconductor industry, we have also developed specialized small on-site plant solutions that meet the highest performance standards while ensuring a reliable gas supply directly at the customer’s facility. To date, we have delivered more than 2800 plants in approximately 80 countries and remain a global leader in this key technology.

Tanks for the Bulk Gas Supply in Gaseous and Liquid State

In liquid form, gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and carbon dioxide require significantly less storage space than in their gaseous state. Therefore, if you require large volumes of these gases, delivery in liquid form can be an advantageous solution. Our dedicated fleet of cryogenic tankers delivers liquefied gases directly to your site and transfers them into vacuum-insulated bulk storage tanks installed at your facility. In many cases, we own and maintain these tanks ourselves, eliminating the need for you to invest in or manage gas supply infrastructure. The stored liquid is maintained at the required pressure through an automated control system. In addition to cryogenic liquid gas storage systems, our portfolio also includes gaseous supply systems for products such as hydrogen and helium. These solutions provide a cost-effective, safe, and demand-oriented gas supply directly at the customer site, offering maximum flexibility for the diverse process requirements of the semiconductor industry.

Tanks for the Bulk Gas Supply
Electrolysis Plants for Onsite Hydrogen Supply

For onsite hydrogen production, we provide comprehensive solutions in which green hydrogen is generated directly at the customer’s site using renewable electricity through electrolysis. These systems deliver high-purity hydrogen according to demand and can be designed for both stable and flexible load profiles. Linde covers the entire value chain, from gas purification, compression, and storage to integration into industrial applications, while also providing engineering, construction, and operational services. As a result, customers benefit from a reliable, efficient, and fully integrated hydrogen supply from a single source through an end-to-end solution.

Bulk Storage Systems, Portable Tanks and Trailers for Helium Supply

Our helium solutions include the design and delivery of helium storage vessels and UN portable tanks for the safe and efficient handling of liquid helium. Drawing on decades of experience in cryogenic technology, we develop tank systems that enable reliable and cost-effective transportation and storage worldwide, both by road and sea. These systems feature high capacities, long hold times, and near-zero product loss during operation. Their robust design ensures low maintenance requirements and long service life. Our offering is complemented by a full range of services, including sourcing, transportation, commissioning, maintenance, inspection, and ongoing operational optimization.

Lithography Gases

Linde is the recognized market leader in the production of neon-based DUV and EUV laser gas mixtures containing gases such as argon, xenon, krypton, and fluorine. For more than 30 years, our lithography gases have enabled the patterning of semiconductor devices. We combine a leading position in rare gases such as neon, krypton, and xenon with proprietary expertise in production, blending, analysis, and cylinder preparation to ensure that our customers’ lithography systems achieve the highest levels of stability and availability. Our lithography gases are blended, analyzed, and filled at our facility in Unterschleißheim, Germany, in accordance with the highest quality standards. Through local production and filling capabilities, we ensure reliable supply and consistently high product quality for the semiconductor industry.

Analytics for Process Optimization

In the electronics industry, process stability, product quality, and resource efficiency are critical success factors. Even minor deviations in process and product parameters can reduce yield, compromise product quality, and lead to significant production losses. By leveraging advanced analytics, monitoring, and data management solutions, we provide transparency across critical process parameters throughout the value chain. Continuous collection and analysis of process, quality, and consumption data enable the early detection of deviations, identification of root causes, and systematic optimization of manufacturing processes. This helps electronics manufacturers improve yields, reduce scrap rates, optimize resource utilization, and enhance overall productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
