About this member
The H+E Group, headquartered in Stuttgart, has already implemented 30,000 systems in the field of industrial water treatment, wastewater treatment and water recycling. This makes the company one of the world's leading plant manufacturers. In all projects that our teams develop for our customers, we rely on innovative technology “engineered in Germany”. With our global network in various countries, we also guarantee direct proximity to our customers. This is why companies from a wide range of industries all over the world place their trust in H+E.
Company founder Willy Hager laid the foundations for H+E back in 1932 in Stuttgart. Since then, the company has continued to expand its expertise, including through its affiliation with well-known groups. The takeover of Permutit GmbH Berlin represents a milestone in the company's history. H+E, then still known as Hager+Elsässer, considerably expanded its experience in the planning and execution of large-scale plants with the acquisition of this long-established company.
We owe much of our technological expertise in wastewater treatment and pre-treatment using biological-aerobic and biological-anaerobic processes to Philipp Müller GmbH Apparatebau, which has been active in this field since 1896.
The H+E Group was able to integrate this traditional company into its own structure in 1999.

Since October 2023, the group of companies with locations in Europe and Asia has been part of Gradiant, a global provider of advanced water and wastewater treatment solutions.
High-quality components, long-standing supplier relationships and a comprehensive after-sales service guarantee reliable systems with high availability. They are planned and designed by our engineers in Stuttgart. H+E works together with local companies in more than 130 countries - true to the guiding principle “Think global, act local”.
Our industry-specific solutions are precisely tailored to the needs of our customers. We guarantee this with all the processes known and used on the market. As a forward-looking company, we also continuously invest in the research and development of new technologies. Because our goal is wastewater-free production - to protect the most precious resource: water.
