Freiberger Compound Materials GmbH (FCM) is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of gallium arsenide (GaAs) substrate materials for micro- and optoelectronic applications and has established an outstanding reputation as producer of extremely flat, ultra-clean wafers.
Its substrate materials are used for MOCVD and HBE as well. FCM is the sole company worldwide using both LEC (Liquid Encapsulated Czochalski) and VGF (Vertical Gradient Freeze) technologies for its products – semi-insulating and semi-conducting wafers with diameters up to 200 mm. Semi-insulating GaAs wafers are employed in microelectronics with most applications in mobile communication such as cell and car phones, wireless high-speed computer networks and satellite navigation. Semi-conducting GaAs material is used in optoelectronics for LEDs and laser diodes.
FCM is certified according to DIN ISO 9001 and DIN EN ISO 14001.
