What do we mean by that? In 1995, two fellow engineers started a startup dedicated to the development, construction, and installation of wet benches for etching and cleaning. A team of engineers and other staff members came together—and has remained united for 20 years.

Due to various circumstances, Matthias Niese and Gerry Knoch decided in 2015 to start their own company and founded exateq. Many former team members followed them and have supported them enthusiastically ever since.

The two owners run a company with a family-like atmosphere. As the business grew, additional employees joined, embracing the company’s spirit, knowledge, and experience while also contributing their own innovative ideas.

Brilliant ideas and outstanding technical skills from the exateq team create products that are highly valued by their users. Of course, not everyone works as an engineer, but every employee has an engineer’s mindset. Now you understand what we mean.

As for our products, during our first decade we focused on wet processing systems for solar wafers. Building on earlier successes, the startup exateq has transformed into a well-established company.
