ACP was founded in Vienna in 1993 and has since grown into a leading IT company with subsidiaries in Austria and Germany. Until 2013, the majority of the shares were owned by the Swiss private equity firm Capvis, after the founders of the company had sold their shares. However, in April 2013, the company was fully reacquired by management and employees in a management buyout, with co-founder and first managing director Stefan Csizy acting as the largest single shareholder. ACP has just over 100 owners, most of whom are actively involved in the company. Although ACP has a history of operating in Switzerland and a brief stint in Poland and Romania, the company has decided to focus on its core markets of Germany and Austria and withdraw from other countries.
