As part of the partnership, the KUKA Group is contributing its portfolio of mobile robotics solutions as well as its comprehensive expertise in automation and robotics. KOMSA complements these strengths with established sales structures, a broad network of resellers, system houses, and integration partners, as well as many years of experience in introducing and scaling new technologies through the channel. The shared goal: to make automation more accessible, easier to integrate, and more scalable for more companies. The goal is to make it easier for small and medium-sized enterprises in particular to get started with mobile robotics. At the same time, this creates an opportunity for system houses and system integrators to expand their existing solution portfolios to include automation and tap into new business areas.

Automation Is Becoming Relevant for New Customer Groups

Artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation are becoming increasingly relevant for companies of all sizes, beyond industrial applications.  The shortage of skilled workers, rising costs, and growing demands for efficiency and flexibility are driving this demand. In small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular, this is creating growing potential for easily accessible and scalable solutions, such as those for material flow and logistics processes. Autonomous mobile robots can serve as an entry point into automation and flexibly complement existing processes.

“With KUKA, we are gaining a global market leader as a partner that shares a similar DNA to KOMSA and our vision: to bring robotics and automation to the broader market and to small and medium-sized enterprises in a straightforward and effective manner. Our strong partner network and technical expertise are key drivers in achieving this. We are now applying what we have successfully built up over decades in the telecommunications sector to the field of mobile robotics,” explains Steffen Ebner, CSO, KOMSA GmbH.

The launch of a defined product and service portfolio is based on a joint partner program as well as training and certification offerings. As a Center of Competence for the KUKA Group’s mobile robotics solutions, KOMSA supports selected business partners in their respective projects as needed—from planning through implementation and commissioning to final acceptance by the customer. The first pilot projects are already underway.

“Automation is becoming a decisive factor for productivity and competitiveness for an increasing number of companies. Especially for small and medium-sized enterprises, it is important to further lower the barriers to entry. Together with KOMSA and its partner ecosystem, we want to make modern automation more accessible and scalable. Physical AI expands the range of possible applications, industries, and customer groups. The key is to create concrete solutions with measurable added value for end customers,” said Raphael Hegeler, Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy & New Business at the KUKA Group.
