As Europe’s leading airfreight hub, Frankfurt handles around 2 million tons of cargo annually and plays a central role in the transport of high-value and time-critical goods. The integration into the Inspire flight schedule further strengthens the important trade flows between Europe and North America.
The updated flight schedule now includes a weekly route from Chicago to Frankfurt and on to Atlanta. The connection directly links Frankfurt and Chicago, two important centers for the production and distribution of pharmaceutical products, and supports the transport of time-critical healthcare goods.

“Inspire” is Kuehne+Nagel’s own self-piloted Boeing 747-8 freighter aircraft. The long-term charter is operated by Atlas Air. The Boeing 747-8F is the largest freighter aircraft manufactured by Boeing with a cargo capacity of around 140 tons and enables the transport of high-value and complex shipments on major global trade routes.
From June 2026, the updated Inspire rotation will improve connectivity along key transatlantic and Asia-Europe trade routes, connecting Atlanta, Chicago, Frankfurt, Liege, Sharjah and Taipei. The network is designed to support industries with high reliability and speed requirements, including pharmaceutical, aerospace, high-tech, semiconductor and cloud infrastructure shipments.
“Frankfurt is one of Europe’s leading air freight and pharmaceutical hubs, connecting regional manufacturing with global markets. The expanded Inspire rotation provides customers with capacity, reliability and better global connectivity for both healthcare shipments and other time-critical cargo, including high-tech and semiconductor flows,” says Martin Schaefer, SVP Air Logistics Germany at Kuehne+Nagel.
