“The application possibilities for edge AI seem almost limitless and we at Infineon are committed to helping our customers realize its full potential,” said Thomas Rosteck, Division President Connected Secure Systems at Infineon. “We are proud to drive the development of innovative, trustworthy, practical and environmentally friendly AI solutions. With DEEPCRAFT, we ensure that our customers have access to a broad portfolio of edge AI solutions designed for all needs. Another advantage is that our edge AI software and state-of-the-art hardware work seamlessly together.”
The DEEPCRAFT brand portfolio will not only include the existing edge AI software products DEEPCRAFT Studio and DEEPCRAFT Ready Models (formerly Imagimob Studio and Imagimob Ready Models). All new edge AI and machine learning software tools, models and solutions will also be brought together under this umbrella in the future. The portfolio will be rapidly expanded to offer Infineon customers an even more comprehensive range of AI solutions. More information about DEEPCRAFT, including the current product offering, can be found here.
New DEEPCRAFT Ready Models
Parallel to the launch of DEEPCRAFT, Infineon’s Edge AI company Imagimob has launched additional Ready Models. These AI models are particularly easy to implement and quickly ready for use. The five new models now also allow the identification of gestures and surfaces using radar sensors as well as the detection of people falling with the help of an acceleration sensor. In addition, audio detection is now also possible for applications in industrial environments.
The new DEEPCRAFT Ready models offer many functionalities tailored to the needs of customers. These include:
- The DEEPCRAFT Ready Model for directional noise detection can be linked to other models for noise detection. In conjunction with the Ready Model for siren detection, for example, vehicles can determine where an emergency vehicle is approaching from. This information can be used to trigger various safety precautions or enable autonomous driving.
- The DEEPCRAFT Ready Model for surface detection was developed for smart lawn mowers that can distinguish between grass and other surfaces using a radar-based model. This allows the smart devices to work even more precisely.
- The DEEPCRAFT Ready Model for alarm detection in factories ensures increased safety for workers. If an alarm is triggered in a factory, the model is used to send a warning to workers. This means that employees who cannot hear the siren due to noise-canceling headphones can also be alerted.
- The DEEPCRAFT Ready model for gesture recognition facilitates the operation of smart home and lifestyle products. Using a radar-based model that recognizes five hand gestures, devices can be switched on or off and the volume can be adjusted.
- The DEEPCRAFT Ready model for fall detection uses an acceleration sensor to understand movements and detect falls. The low energy consumption ensures a long battery life in wearables and offers users safety. This is an important aspect, especially for senior citizens who live alone.
“Our expanded Ready Models portfolio enables customers to quickly integrate AI capabilities into their products and services and open up new opportunities for smart, reliable and sustainable solutions that transform industries and improve lives,” says Anders Hardebring, CEO of Imagimob. “The expanded offering of DEEPCRAFT Ready Models is an important step towards a platform that provides our customers with AI solutions for any application and lays a very good foundation for further DEEPCRAFT solutions from Infineon.”
Imagimob joined Infineon in May 2023 and is driving innovation in edge AI and tiny ML to enable the intelligent products of the future. Imagimob’s products offer optimized productivity and faster time to market. DEEPCRAFT™ Studio is a platform for rapid end-to-end development of edge AI applications for embedded devices. The pre-built DEEPCRAFT™ Ready Models enable fast and easy implementation of Edge AI.
