In its decision issued today, the Regional Court of Munich I found that a patent held by Infineon is infringed by GaN products offered by Innoscience in Germany. In particular, this decision prohibits Innoscience from manufacturing, selling and marketing the infringing products in Germany. In addition, the court orders Innoscience to pay damages to Infineon.
Today’s court decision underscores the value of Infineon’s achievements in GaN technology and the company’s ongoing commitment to fair competition. “The decisions demonstrate the strength of Infineon’s patent portfolio and further prove that we vigorously defend our intellectual property,” said Johannes Schoiswohl, Senior Vice President and Head of Infineon’s GaN Systems Business Line.
Infineon continues to expand its position as a leading integrated device manufacturer (IDM) in the GaN market. The company has the broadest patent portfolio in the industry. It comprises around 450 GaN patent families.
