Infineon and GF have been working together since 2013 to develop differentiated semiconductor technologies and products for the automotive, industrial and security sectors. At the center of this collaboration is a highly reliable embedded non-volatile memory (eNVM) technology that is ideally suited for demanding automotive applications while meeting the stringent safety requirements for next-generation vehicle systems. Infineon’s leading microcontroller family AURIX is already driving the industry’s transformation towards autonomous, connected and electrified vehicles.

“With this long-term agreement, Infineon is further expanding its offering of semiconductor solutions that drive decarbonization and digitalization,” said Dr. Rutger Wijburg, Chief Operations Officer and Member of the Management Board of Infineon. “With the increasing demand for automotive applications, our goal is to deliver high-quality microcontrollers with enhanced connectivity and advanced security. As we move toward a world of all-electric, connected, user-centric and autonomous vehicles, our AURIX family of microcontrollers is an important building block for reliable electronics.”

“Today’s announcement underscores Infineon’s importance as a long-term key customer in several regions, especially in Europe, where the automotive industry is a major contributor to innovation and economic growth. GF’s global manufacturing presence allows us to meet our customers’ capacity needs where they are,” said Niels Anderskouv, Chief Business Officer of GF. “Our collaboration with Infineon on two continents drives differentiation and innovation in the automotive industry, and our long-term agreement provides Infineon with additional production capacity for a more stable supply chain.”
