World Quantum Day, which is celebrated annually on April 14, focuses on the importance of quantum science and its technological applications worldwide. The day of action is also used in Saxony to make existing initiatives more visible, initiate new collaborations and intensify the exchange between science, industry and society.
The SAX-QT Quantum Saxony network brings together players from science, industry and technology transfer with the aim of advancing quantum technology innovations along the entire value chain. From basic research to the development of new technologies through to industrial application, synergies are to be created and the transfer accelerated. Saxony is thus increasingly positioning itself as an internationally visible location for quantum technologies.
The HTWD is also joining the state-wide SAX-QT Quantum Saxony network and signed a declaration of intent today. HTWD is contributing its strengths to this network, particularly in the fields of computer science, engineering, microelectronics, communications technology and applied physics. These competencies are central to current and future issues in quantum technologies, for example in high-performance data processing, the simulation of complex systems or the development of modern sensor technology and electronic components.
“By joining, HTW Dresden is underlining its claim to be actively involved in future-oriented technologies and to promote the transfer of knowledge into practice. Especially against the background of growing global competitive dynamics, the close networking of research and application is a decisive success factor,” says Rector Prof. Ingo Gestring.
