July 17, 2026. In 2026, Freiberg Instruments completed a major expansion of its headquarters, thereby doubling its production capacity for the second time in seven years. The new air-conditioned production facility provides additional space for the manufacturing, system integration, and commissioning of advanced measurement and automation systems, with a particular focus on equipment for semiconductor manufacturing.

The expansion is about more than just additional space. Production, laboratories, and administration are now more closely integrated, which shortens internal travel distances and enables faster, more direct collaboration. The new facility also provides space for acceptance testing and customer demonstrations—thereby supporting larger, more complex, and highly customized projects all under one roof.
The comprehensive investment program also includes CNC milling machines with robotic technology, waterjet cutting, and a photovoltaic system. These investments strengthen Freiberg Instruments’ in-house manufacturing capabilities, increase operational flexibility, and support more sustainable operations.

By doubling our capacity once again, we are laying a solid foundation for the next phase of our international growth,” explains Dr. Kay Dornich, CEO.
Freiberg Instruments had already doubled its production capacity for the first time in 2018, when an earlier expansion brought the production and application teams together and expanded the company’s in-house manufacturing capabilities.
The 2026 milestone builds on this foundation and creates the necessary capacity to meet growing global demand while continuing to deliver precise, reliable, and customized solutions.
