“Saxony and Dresden have a long tradition in microelectronics dating back to the 1960s. However, many companies in Silicon Saxony are not very visible to the public. Our aim was to bring companies and urban society into contact with each other in an uncomplicated way through sport. The shared experience of internationality and team spirit was particularly valuable. We are delighted that so many people took advantage of this opportunity,” says Daniela Georgi, Chief Culture Officer at DAS Environmental Experts.
The sports day created a relaxed setting in which to get to know leading companies in the microelectronics industry – manufacturers, suppliers and service providers – outside of their usual environment. It was inspiring to see how sport builds bridges, sparks conversations and promotes exchange.
“Everything came together perfectly and we had a great opportunity to demonstrate the true meaning of our hashtag #bettertogether. Silicon Saxony embodies everything needed for a strong and thriving ecosystem: committed people working to create a livable and dynamic region. This event highlighted the power of community and collaboration within our industry,” says Elisabeth Haufe, Chief Operating Officer at Silicon Saxony.
Families with children also took the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of high technology – with exciting insights into future innovations and career fields.
And a fun fact at the end: Our Purple Thunder Rugby Team emerged as the winner of the day!
