At the events, the participants gained first-hand insights into the work at GlobalFoundries. Dresden. The online event took place as part of the EU project European Chips Skills Academy (ECSA), in which Silicon Saxony is a project partner.
The participants learned about the goals of the ECSA, explored the GlobalFoundries production facility in Dresden on a virtual reality tour and found out about current career opportunities at the global semiconductor manufacturer. Practical contributions and a personal experience report provided authentic impressions of everyday working life in a modern fab and offered numerous points of contact for further questions.
The high level of participation and interest also underline Silicon Saxony’s strategic focus on promoting and attracting qualified specialists as a central focus and specifically tapping into international talent for the semiconductor industry.
Silicon Saxony members benefit in particular from direct access to an international talent pool (>10 countries), whereby qualified specialists are addressed efficiently and without high wastage. At the same time, authentic insights into real working environments (fab, R&E, production) measurably strengthen employer branding (higher applicant quality and conversion).
Further webinars are already being planned.
