The goal of the reorganization is to further expand Bosch’s innovative strength and competitiveness through greater customer focus, enhanced entrepreneurship, increased flexibility, and streamlined decision-making processes in its operational business.
“The environment in our markets is becoming more challenging. New competitors, especially from Asia, are increasing competitive pressure. For us at Bosch, this means we must bring innovations to market even faster, significantly simplify structures and processes, and pick up the pace even more overall to maintain our competitiveness,” says Dr. Christian Fischer, Chairman of the Board of Management of Robert Bosch GmbH. “The goal is to sustainably increase the profitability of the entire Bosch Group so that we can continue to finance technological breakthroughs on our own in the future. With the planned reorganization of our corporate structures, we are creating the conditions that will allow each business unit to realize its full potential—with greater entrepreneurial freedom, short decision-making paths, and a close relationship with customers. This also means that our internal service divisions can contribute more to the success of the operating business units by providing competitive and first-class services. One thing is clear: Even in their new legal form, all units will remain an integral part of the Bosch Group.”
As part of the reorganization, approximately 62,500 employees in Germany are set to transfer to the new subsidiaries—most of them from the Mobility division. Their employment contracts are to be transferred to the new subsidiaries. In the future, Robert Bosch GmbH will primarily comprise the corporate headquarters as well as central research and advanced development. Currently, this totals more than 3,000 employees.
New Interaction Between Headquarters and Operational Business Units
The planned standardization of structures is an important milestone in Bosch’s consistent further development. In conjunction with this, the company is also realigning the interaction between headquarters and the operating business units: The subsidiaries will be given greater entrepreneurial freedom to respond more specifically and quickly to rapidly changing markets and customer needs. In the future, corporate headquarters will act more as a strategic holding company that supports all operating divisions in realizing their full potential. The entire restructuring is to be implemented in stages by the end of 2027. The new legal entities are scheduled to begin operations on August 1, 2027.

Independent Structure for the Mobility Business Unit
As an independent subsidiary, the Mobility business unit will integrate its operations even more closely within the Bosch Group and manage them across divisions. This will enable Bosch Mobility to offer its customers worldwide even more precisely tailored, integrated solutions from a single source, accelerate decision-making, streamline processes, and invest financial resources more strategically in innovations and growth areas. At the same time, this creates greater scope for strategic partnerships and new business models. With this new structure, Bosch is consistently advancing the development of its Mobility business sector and thereby also enhancing its competitiveness: “We’re starting from a position of strength. But to remain a leader in the long term, we must consistently adapt to new customer requirements, markets, and the competition,” says Dr. Markus Heyn, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Management of Robert Bosch GmbH and Chairman of the Mobility Business Sector. “In the future, we’ll be able to operate even closer to our customers, act more cohesively as a single unit, and drive change more quickly in one of the world’s most demanding industries. We want to continue setting the pace for the automotive industry. That requires speed, clarity, and entrepreneurial determination—and we have all of that.” With its independent status as a subsidiary, Mobility remains the largest business sector within the Bosch Group. In 2025, it contributed approximately 60 percent of total revenue, amounting to 55.8 billion euros.
