November 10, 2023 The world of work is changing, Generation Z is providing new impetus and at the same time the shortage of specialists and workers is intensifying. The importance of targeted career guidance is therefore growing. The nationwide SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT Deutschland network is committed to doing just that. Today, companies and schools that show outstanding commitment at the interface between school and work are being honored with the SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT “Das hat Potenzial” award, which is sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection.

Michael Kellner, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection: “With their voluntary commitment, this year’s award winners have impressively demonstrated that it is possible to shape professional orientation not only in a practical way, but also individually. This enables young people to make sustainable decisions about which professional and career paths are right for them. This not only helps young people starting out in their careers, but also the companies that recruit the skilled workers of tomorrow. I would therefore like to congratulate all of the award winners and thank them for their commitment to successful career guidance.”

Awards will be presented to winners in the categories “Company”, “SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT Starter”, “School – Company Cooperation”, “Teaching and Learning Media” and “Regional Network”. For the second time, a special prize will be awarded in recognition of particularly successful STEM projects and offers for girls and young women. A jury made up of representatives from business, schools and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection selected the winners.

Through close cooperation between schools and companies, young people learn directly from business experts what it means to work in the respective profession. The pupils can try out the professions in the company and find out in everyday working life whether the dual training and the career goal fit.

The SCHULEWIRTSCHAFT Deutschland network stands for partnership-based cooperation between schools and business – regionally anchored, networked nationwide. Experts initiate and shape cooperation between schools and businesses in around 400 regional networks across Germany. The work is supported by a broad voluntary commitment, which is supported by full-time offices at state and national level. At national level, the network is supported by the Confederation of German Employers’ Associations and the German Economic Institute, and at state level by umbrella organizations and employers’ educational institutions in partnership with ministries.
