But first from the beginning: The Dresden boys and girls had managed to qualify for the international round of the “FIRST LEGO League”. They represented Germany at one of the largest robotics competitions in the world – the “Asia Pacific Open” in Sidney.

After a long journey, the students were able to explore the impressive city of Sidney before the international competition started. This included three RobotGames, in which the robot of the ManosRobots had to solve as many tasks as possible on a competition plate in 2:30 min each. With a perfect run, the Dresden team achieved the maximum score and was thus able to secure a respectable 10th place in this discipline among the 50 teams from 24 countries.

At the Closing Ceremony, ManosRobots’ achievements in programming, robot building and the research project “SmartCharger” were awarded. The jury honored the team with the following words:

“Engineering is their national sport. Their robot was built with a lot of thought, with two gyros powered by RobotC, missions were completed with upmost accuracy.”

We are very pleased to have been able to support this great team by sponsoring their travel expenses to Sidney!
