As part of the “Future Mission Education”, the Stifterverband, IBM SkillsBuild and the AI Campus are joining forces to specifically promote future skills and the confident use of artificial intelligence (AI) in educational institutions and the world of work. IBM SkillsBuild’s free learning opportunities are now available on the KI-Campus digital learning platform. The aim of the cooperation is to empower people of all ages for the digital and sustainable transformation – with a special focus on AI and data skills.
Learners can complete the IBM SkillsBuild courses “Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence” and “Machine Learning and Deep Learning”, among others, on the AI Campus. In around two hours of learning per course, the new offerings provide a low-threshold introduction to central AI concepts and demonstrate practical applications.
Those who complete all six courses in the AI series will also receive a “micro-degree” as proof of achievement in addition to the individual course certificates. Online webinars from IBM are planned to accompany the courses, which will take up and deepen the course content.
“A central goal of the Stifterverband is open, accessible and practical AI education. That’s why it’s important to us that IBM is a strong partner supporting this cause,” says Florian Rampelt, Program Manager for Future Skills & AI and Head of the AI Campus at the Stifterverband. “In addition to a fundamental understanding of AI systems, the focus is particularly on the practical application and critical classification of AI. This requires strong cooperation between science and business.”
Wolfgang Wendt, Chairman of the Management Board of IBM Deutschland GmbH and General Manager IBM Germany, Austria and Switzerland, adds: “Artificial intelligence is changing our working world and is having an impact on both the way companies work and the activities of their employees. Education combined with knowledge is the key to actively shaping this transformation and remaining technologically competitive. With IBM SkillsBuild on the AI Campus, we are making AI skills accessible to everyone – practical, future-oriented and free of charge. Together with the Stifterverband, we are sending a strong signal for an equitable and innovative educational landscape in Germany with the “Future Mission Education”.”
The focus of the collaboration will be on IBM SkillsBuild courses and certificates related to AI and other technical skills. This reinforces IBM’s global commitment to train 30 million people worldwide by 2030.
The AI education project is part of the Alliance for Future Skills in the Future Mission Education. The Alliance for Future Skills aims to significantly increase the proportion of universities that include AI competencies and future skills in their educational programs. IBM is involved as a sponsor of the Alliance and as a member company on the board of the Stifterverband.
