Infineon is acquiring 100% of the shares in the company. The parties have agreed not to disclose the amount of the investment.

“Artificial intelligence and machine learning, respectively, will soon find their way into any applications, enabling new functionalities. Imagimob offers an excellent platform and expertise in the development of robust machine learning solutions for edge devices. This will enable us to further significantly improve control and energy efficiency in our products in the future while protecting privacy,” said Thomas Rosteck, President of Infineon’s Connected Secure Systems Division. “We enable our customers to take advantage of AI or ML and bring products to market quickly by further expanding our portfolio of advanced sensors and IoT solutions.”

“With Infineon, we can enable faster developments as well as new applications for our customers and help them differentiate themselves in their markets,” said Anders Hardebring, co-founder and CEO of Imagimob. “As an integral part of the Infineon ecosystem, with the relevant application expertise and extensive product portfolio, we can implement advanced sensing and control in IoT applications in an energy-efficient and secure manner.”

Imagimob is a leading player in the fast-growing Tiny Machine Learning and Automated Machine Learning (AutoML) market, providing an end-to-end development platform for machine learning on edge devices. Imagimob’s platform enables a wide range of use cases such as audio event recognition, voice control, predictive maintenance, gesture recognition, signal classification, and material recognition. Infineon can thus again significantly expand its hardware/software ecosystem. The joint expertise of both companies and its application to the broad range of sensors will provide respective customers with a consistent user experience across all products in the future, enable rapid deployment of robust solutions, and will accelerate the expanded use of Tiny Machine Learning across all applications and segments.
