“The DACHSER Enterprise Lab, as a combination of science and practice, has proven its worth. Over the next three years, we will focus on digital solutions, artificial intelligence, and robotics,” explains Stefan Hohm, Chief Development Officer at DACHSER.<\/p>\n

Burkhard Eling, CEO of DACHSER, comments on the extension of the partnership: \u201cOur research collaboration with the Fraunhofer Society is a central component of our innovation strategy. It has repeatedly demonstrated its effectiveness and relevance to our business when it comes to harnessing the potential of new technologies for our entire network.\u201d<\/p>\n

Collaboration Since 2017<\/h3>\n

At the DACHSER Enterprise Lab in Dortmund, DACHSER logistics specialists have been working closely with Fraunhofer scientists since 2017 to develop innovative digital solutions for use in DACHSER\u2019s general cargo network and across the entire supply chain. One result of this collaboration at the DACHSER Enterprise Lab is the @ILO digital twin for general cargo handling, which was honored with the German Logistics Award from the German Logistics Association (BVL) in 2023 and, in early 2026, with the European Logistics Award from the European Logistics Association (ELA). By the end of 2026, @ILO will already have been implemented at 14 of the logistics service provider\u2019s locations in Europe.<\/p>\n

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alice Kirchheim, Director of the Fraunhofer IML, comments: \u201cWe are delighted that the partnership is being extended once again. @ILO has impressively demonstrated what we can achieve together\u2014and we will continue to do so in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEspecially in the field of artificial intelligence, companies are challenged to translate the current state of the art into practical solutions,\u201d adds Prof. Dr. Stefan Wrobel, Director of the Fraunhofer IAIS. \u201cDACHSER is consistently implementing this through its Enterprise Lab to keep its business model competitive in the long term.\u201d<\/p>\n
