The new factory is intended to meet growing demand from the automotive, industrial, and medical technology sectors and will also make an important contribution to strengthening European autonomy in the field of semiconductor technology. <\/p>\n

The Fab4Micro project is being funded by the German federal government and the Free State of Thuringia with a total of 127.4 million euros as part of the EU Chips Act. <\/p>\n

“Today\u2019s groundbreaking ceremony is an important milestone for X-FAB and underscores our long-term commitment to innovation, growth, and supporting our customers worldwide,” said Dr. Gabriel Kittler, Managing Director of the Erfurt site.<\/p>\n
