Through close collaboration between SRZ staff and faculty from the Chair of Computer Science Education, new club topics have emerged, including offerings that are more appealing to girls and also cater to those who are still discovering computer science for themselves. For example, there is a course called \u201cCode and Thread\u201d for creative work with a programmable embroidery machine.<\/p>\n

For students, the TUD Student Computer Center (SRZ) is a great opportunity to test their technical knowledge, learn about new developments in various areas of computer science, and try them out in practice. Over 100 students take advantage of the course offerings each year.<\/p>\n

The new course offerings cover three subject areas: \u201cDiscovering the Digital World\u201d is aimed specifically at younger students starting in 5th grade and is designed to spark their enthusiasm for computer science. In \u201cComputer Science Plus,\u201d interested students in 7th grade and above have the opportunity to explore topics in computer science that go well beyond the school curriculum. \u201cUniversity Preparation and Career Orientation\u201d already offers courses that prepare students for a degree in computer science or for entering computer science-related vocational training programs.<\/p>\n

Course registration opens on September 23 via the online form on the website (www.srz.tu-dresden.de<\/a>) of the Student Computing Center. Further information: info@srz-dresden.de<\/p>\n

The opening event will take place on September 23 starting at 4:00 p.m. 2026 in Room 1004 of the Andreas-Pfitzmann-Bau, N\u00f6thnitzer Str. 46, and will feature a tour of the facilities as well as an overview of selected course offerings.<\/p>\n
