At an international project meeting, Volkswagen presented the prototype of an autonomous charging robot to the public for the first time. Together with the Mobility Data Space of Dresden’s Fraunhofer IVI, this will form an ecosystem for user-friendly charging infrastructure and electromobility in the Ostra sports park and supplement the previously limited number of charging points. The Fraunhofer IVI enabled participants to take a ride in a remote-controlled vehicle from a control center in Dresden’s S\u00fcdvorstadt district. The Eigenbetrieb Sportst\u00e4tten of the state capital Dresden also presented its autonomous service robots TurfRob and EvoBot. They support the care and maintenance of sports facilities, including the Heinz Steyer Stadium and the artificial turf pitches.<\/p>\n

Online survey on the mobility concept<\/h3>\n

The planned mobility concept aims to make traveling to the Ostra Sports Park easier and more environmentally friendly – whether on foot, by bike, by public transport or by car. At the same time, the aim is to further increase the attractiveness of the sports park. The people of Dresden are invited to contribute their experiences and ideas to the planning process. The online survey will run until June 30, 2026 and is open to regular visitors to the sports park as well as people who use the area for walking or leisure activities.<\/p>\n

As part of Smart City Dresden, the “MOBILITIES for EU” project is being funded as part of the European Union’s Horizon Europe research framework program. Together with various partners, the Office for Economic Development of the City of Dresden is developing innovative solutions to improve transport and sustainability. <\/p>\n
