Two-dimensional materials offer a particularly promising platform for this. Thanks to their exceptional optical, electronic, magnetic and spin-related properties, they open up a wide range of applications, from single-photon sources and detectors to spin and valley-based qubits and novel architectures for quantum computers.<\/p>\n<p>The project focuses on the further development of CVD and MOCVD growth technologies for two-dimensional quantum materials and complex heterostructures. Among other things, the aim is to realize bilayer graphene with adjustable bandgap and isotopic purity as a host material for spin qubits, to develop single photon emitters and detectors based on two-dimensional materials and to research cryogenic bilayer MOSFETs for efficient qubit control in future quantum processors.<\/p>\n<p>At AMO, QuantumMOCVD is led by Stephan Suckow within the Photonics research group. Together with a strong interdisciplinary consortium of leading partners from academia and industry, AMO contributes its expertise to the project. The project is coordinated by AIXTRON SE, with RWTH Aachen University, Philipps University Marburg and the VDI Technology Center also involved.<\/p>\n<p>The successful project kick-off was characterized by intensive and constructive discussions.
