This includes settlements from the high-tech sector, business start-ups and start-ups. Dresden’s strong appeal as the heart of the European semiconductor industry is increasingly being recognized internationally and is attracting inquiries from Taiwan, Japan and Singapore, among others.<\/p>\n
“Dresden is growing in important future-oriented sectors such as microelectronics. The fact that globally active companies are investing here proves that a permanent base in Dresden is now seen as absolutely essential,” says Dresden’s Mayor of Economic Affairs Jan Pratzka<\/p>\n
The twelve company settlements specifically complement established value chains and ensure innovation in Dresden. For example, Mitutoyo from Japan, the global market leader in precision length measurement technology, is exhibiting attractive solutions for the semiconductor and electrical industries at its new competence center in the TechnologieZentrum Dresden-S\u00fcd.<\/p>\n
“We have been active in Dresden for a long time. The establishment of ESMC and the investments made by other semiconductor manufacturers put the location in a different league internationally. This is why we now also want to support our customers locally in Dresden,” explains Wolfgang Zeller, Managing Director of Mitutoyo Deutschland GmbH.<\/p>\n
With Marketech International Corp. from Taiwan and the market leader for laboratory automation Elemental Scientific Inc. from the USA, two internationally active suppliers for semiconductor production are also settling here, directly strengthening the dynamically growing microelectronics cluster Silicon Saxony. The establishment of Pfaffelhuber Recycling with a new location in Cossebaude expands the local recycling expertise and contributes to the sustainable development and use of resources in Dresden.<\/p>\n
Dresden-based DAS Environmental Experts GmbH – a specialist provider of environmental technologies – recently announced the opening of a second service office in the north of Dresden. DAS Environmental Experts is thus strengthening its presence in the European semiconductor cluster Silicon Saxony and responding to increasing demand as a result of growing production capacities in the region. The opening coincides with the 35th year of the environmental technology company’s existence. The additional site is located in the immediate vicinity of central production facilities in the semiconductor industry. The aim is to provide services faster and more efficiently directly at the point of value creation.<\/p>\n
“DAS Environmental Experts is a prime example of the fact that every new job created in semiconductor production in the ecosystem generates around three additional jobs in the supplier industry. The DAS investment underlines this effect. The development also shows how the high-tech cluster is becoming more concentrated and how value creation is gaining in depth and quality,” says Frank B\u00f6senberg, Managing Director of Silicon Saxony.<\/p>\n
