The additional site is located in the immediate vicinity of central production facilities in the semiconductor industry. The aim is to provide services faster and more efficiently directly at the point of value creation. The background to this is a structural change in the service business. Over the past five years, the number of systems serviced in the north of Dresden has risen continuously, while at the same time customer requirements have become more demanding. Shorter response times, higher system availability and closer coordination processes on site are now regarded as critical factors for production success. “The proximity to our customers and the associated speed of response were decisive factors in the decision to open a second service office in Dresden,” says Stephan Raithel, Chief Operation Officer Gas Treatment at DAS Environmental Experts. “In an environment of increasing technological complexity, speed of service is becoming a decisive competitive factor. The new service office is far more than just a logistical optimization. It is an example of the next stage in the development of the semiconductor cluster. With the expansion of production capacities, the bottleneck is increasingly shifting from production to the stability and resilience of ongoing processes,” adds Raithel. <\/p>\n
For many years, customers in Dresden and Europe were supported by centrally organized service teams. With the establishment of a dedicated team for the Dresden area, DAS Environmental Experts is now focusing its organization more strongly on local requirements. The aim is to provide continuous support with dedicated contact persons and to increase the operational availability of service capacities. At the same time, the company is responding to structural challenges in the industry, including increasing efficiency pressure and competition for qualified specialists. A supervisor and 18 service technicians are currently deployed at the site in the north of Dresden, 14 of whom work directly on site with customers, as well as four specialists who can be deployed flexibly. The team looks after the systems 24\/7. Thanks to the close proximity, travel times can be reduced by up to 80 percent. In an industry in which unplanned downtimes directly cause high costs, the speed of service calls is becoming increasingly important. Reducing travel times not only cuts costs, but also supports sustainability goals that the industry has set itself.<\/p>\n
With the new office, which was opened together with customers on April 29, 2026, DAS Environmental Experts is also creating the infrastructural conditions for further growth. In addition to shorter distances and improved coordination between teams and customers, a local spare parts warehouse enables faster availability of critical components. The location also strengthens networking with other suppliers and partners in the semiconductor ecosystem. “DAS Environmental Experts is a prime example of the fact that every new job created in semiconductor manufacturing in the ecosystem generates around three additional jobs in the supplier industry. The DAS investment underlines this effect. The development also shows how the high-tech cluster is becoming more concentrated and how value creation is gaining in depth and quality,” says Frank B\u00f6senberg, Managing Director of Silicon Saxony.<\/p>\n
The new office is designed as a modern work and service location. Flexible workstations promote communication between the teams at both locations in Dresden, while new meeting and training rooms can be used for collaboration with customers. The company is thus combining operational efficiency with the aim of gearing its organization towards long-term growth. The development in the north of Dresden underlines the dynamism of the semiconductor location. With the expansion of its local presence, DAS Environmental Experts sees itself in a position to support the increasing demand for specialized environmental technologies and their services. The team is expected to grow to around 25 people by 2027.
