Bachelor&#8217;s degree course &#8220;Semiconductor Processes and Materials Chemistry&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p>The course provides the scientific and technical foundation for careers in semiconductor production and related high-tech fields. The focal points include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Material chemistry and materials: structure, bonding and surface properties<\/li>\n<li>Semiconductor process technology: coating, structuring, etching processes, characterization methods<\/li>\n<li>Production &amp; quality management: process control, sensor technology, data science, lean approaches<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Prof. Dr. Jens Weber, Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences at the HSZG, was involved in the curriculum development. He is delighted: &#8220;With the new course, we are creating a scientifically sound, practice-oriented foundation for the next generation of specialists in the high-tech industry. The involvement of regional companies allows us to focus skills precisely where they will be needed most in the future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\">2. Bachelor&#8217;s degree course in &#8220;Mechatronics for Manufacturing&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p>The binational degree course qualifies students for highly automated manufacturing environments &#8211; particularly in the semiconductor industry. It teaches:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Engineering fundamentals: electrical engineering, mechanics, computer science, robotics<\/li>\n<li>Semiconductor technology: thin film&nbsp; and cleanroom technologies, materials, processes<\/li>\n<li>Production &amp; quality management: process automation, measurement technology, data analysis, maintenance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A particular highlight is the double degree together with the TU Liberec (Czech Republic), combined with international study experience from the 4th semester onwards.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\"><b>Why these degree programs are relevant for companies:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>The demand for skilled workers in the semiconductor and high-tech sector is growing rapidly. Both HSZG programmes were designed to close precisely this gap and offer companies a variety of opportunities to get to know students at an early stage, for example through internships, theses and direct exchange in projects.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Dr Sophia Keil, Vice-Rector for Research, Transfer and Internationalization, led the workshops to define future skills profiles: &#8220;Our close cooperation with Silicon Saxony shows how important the close collaboration between university and industry is for the development of future-oriented study programmes.
