KG, InfraTec GmbH Infrarotsensorik und Messtechnik, Melexis Dresden GmbH, Racyics GmbH, Robert Bosch Semiconductor Manufacturing Dresden GmbH, Tokyo Electron Europe Ltd. 
All participating companies are part of the Silicon Saxony network and impressively demonstrated how broad and powerful the regional microelectronics  and ICT landscape is.<\/p>\n

Silicon Saxony itself actively on site – with an international guest<\/h3>\n

Silicon Saxony also presented itself – together with a special guest: the Society of Women Engineers, the largest international organization for the promotion of women in technical professions. SWE was introduced by two members who work at Globalfoundries. In a short pitch, they explained that SWE is in fact not only aimed at women, but also offers programs, mentoring, training and community formats for non-binary people and male supporters who want to pursue technical careers or work in engineering professions.<\/p>\n

Impulses from science and industry<\/h3>\n

The event was opened by Stefan Mannsfeld, Professor of Organic Devices and Board Member of the Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden (cfaed). In his speech, he emphasized the importance of active networking for starting a career and invited the students: “Get in touch with any company you find interesting to find out if it suits you.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Christian Koitzsch, President & Managing Director of the European Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (ESMC), also provided a strong industrial policy impetus. He emphasized the growth dynamics of the sector: “We are on the threshold of a 1000 billion dollar industry.”
Dresden exists, the startup consultancy of TU Dresden, was also represented and motivated students to further develop startup ideas and anchor them in the regional innovation landscape.<\/p>\n

Companies benefit from career events at educational institutions<\/h3>\n

Career formats at Saxon universities such as the Industry Get-Together play a key role: they bring together young talent and companies, open doors for internships, final theses, student jobs and career starts, thereby strengthening Saxony as a location for innovation in the long term.
In technology-driven industries in particular, personal contacts and low-threshold discussion opportunities are a decisive factor in successfully securing skilled workers.<\/p>\n
