It aims to ensure that the legislation is effective, efficient, relevant, coherent and brings clear added value to the EU.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/law\/better-regulation\/have-your-say\/initiatives\/14842-Chips-Act-2_en\" target=\"_blank\">public consultation&nbsp;<\/a>is forward-looking: Stakeholders are being asked to give their views on how the Chips Act could be adapted to support the European semiconductor ecosystem in the coming years, including through simplification where appropriate.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\">Broad participation welcome<\/h3>\n<p>The Commission is seeking input from all interested parties, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Industry stakeholders along the entire semiconductor value chain (IDMs, fabless companies, design houses, device manufacturers, suppliers);<br \/>Industrial users of semiconductors in sectors such as automotive, telecommunications, healthcare, energy, industrial robotics and manufacturing, defense and security;<\/li>\n<li>National competent authorities, including semiconductor-related authorities;<\/li>\n<li>EU bodies such as the Semiconductor Joint Undertaking, EISMEA, EIB and EIF;<\/li>\n<li>Start-ups, SMEs and scale-ups;<\/li>\n<li>Research and technology organizations, universities and scientific associations;<\/li>\n<li>Trade and industry associations;<\/li>\n<li>Investors, including venture capital and private equity;<\/li>\n<li>Non-governmental organizations, think tanks and other civil society organizations;<\/li>\n<li>Independent experts and consultants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In line with its better regulation approach, the Commission particularly welcomes scientific evidence and research contributions (including quantitative analysis and data where available) that can strengthen the evidence base for evaluation and review.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\">Next steps<\/h3>\n<p>The feedback received will help the Commission prepare the evaluation report on the Chips Act and identify possible adjustments to ensure that the framework continues to contribute effectively to supporting European ambitions in the semiconductor sector.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/law\/better-regulation\/have-your-say\/initiatives\/14842-Chips-Act-2_en\" target=\"_blank\">public consultation is available on the Commission&#8217;s consultation portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211;<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"\">Further links<\/h4>\n<p>\ud83d\udc49&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/law\/better-regulation\/have-your-say\/initiatives\/14842-Chips-Act-2_en\" target=\"_blank\">Commission consultation portal<\/a><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu\/en\/news\/commission-launches-public-consultation-and-call-evidence-evaluation-and-review-chips-act\" target=\"_blank\">\ud83d\udc49 Shaping Europe&#8217;s digital future<\/a><\/p>\n<p><i>Photo: unsplash<\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>September 5, 2025.
