Europe has always been at the forefront of quantum science with a strong record of innovation and discovery. We have everything we need to become a leading quantum continent: from a highly skilled workforce to a robust research infrastructure. As the global quantum race intensifies and moves from the lab to real-world applications, Europe must maintain its leadership. That is why the Quantum Europe strategy will bring together Member States, industry, academia and society to fully exploit the potential of quantum technologies.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\">Key points<\/h3>\n<p>The strategy targets five areas: Research and innovation, quantum infrastructures, strengthening ecosystems, space and dual-use technologies and quantum skills.<\/p>\n<p>It includes the following actions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Quantum Europe research and innovation initiative: EU and Member States jointly support fundamental research and develop applications in key public and industrial sectors.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Quantum Design Facility and six quantum chip pilot lines: supported by up to \u20ac50 million in public funding to turn scientific prototypes into manufacturable products.<\/li>\n<li>Pilot facility for the European Quantum Internet.<\/li>\n<li>Expansion of the Quantum Skills Cluster across the EU, launch of the European Academy of Quantum Skills in 2026.<\/li>\n<li>Quantum Technology Roadmap in Space: developed with the European Space Agency, it will contribute to the European Armaments Technology Roadmap.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"\">Promoting the European quantum industry<\/h3>\n<p>The quantum strategy aims to increase the share of global private funding that European quantum companies currently receive. It currently stands at 5 percent.
