With the construction or expansion of several chip factories in Europe, the demand for high-quality and high-purity semiconductor chemicals such as sulphuric acid is increasing. This demand is being accelerated by a close cooperation partner of BASF, which is currently building a new chip production plant in Europe. These chips are used in automotive, mobile phone and AI chip applications. BASF is investing in the semiconductor chemical value chain based on mutual long-term customer-supplier commitments with its strategic partners.<\/p>\n
This expansion will significantly improve supply chain reliability for BASF’s partners by ensuring a reliable and consistent supply of high-quality, locally produced semiconductor-grade sulfuric acid.<\/p>\n
Located in the heart of BASF’s integrated chemical manufacturing site in Ludwigshafen, Germany, the state-of-the-art production facility will provide its customers with chemicals of exceptional purity and quality required for advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes. In addition, having production close to key BASF customers will enable BASF to better meet their needs by providing rapid support and minimizing lead times.<\/p>\n
